THE BUTLER BUMPED UP FROM OCTOBER TO AUGUST

In a somewhat perplexing move, The Weinstein Company has moved Lee Daniels' potentially Oscar-bound The Butler from the 18th of October to the 16th of August, over two months' difference, and just over three months ahead of its new release date. Two years ago, a mid-Summer release served The Help well, but with #thatcast, it's a wonder Weinstein didn't respond to the obvious bait-y nature of the material and shift it release to even later in the year if at all. Perhaps they know what we know based on the trailer alone: it's way too shit even for Oscar, but Oprah's way too good for anybody to forget her between August and next March. She's Oprah, bitches!
