I admit that I was foolish to proclaim the Academy's list of 20 films advancing in the Visual Effects race to be simply a doubling of the usual selection of 10. That wasn't happening then, but it's happening now! Ten films, with five from Disney yet featuring a fair variety of styles, will be halved again to complete the final slate of nominations, to be announced along with all of the other Oscar categories on the 24th of January. The ten films progressing in the race are below.
