THE REVENANT AND THE MARTIAN WIN BEST PICTURE FROM THE GOLDEN GLOBES

A night that began with some strange surprise choices by the HFPA, including wins for Steve Jobs in Supporting Actress and Screenplay, though otherwise largely contained within the TV categories, the Golden Globes concluded in somewhat more expected fashion when the top awards came around... that is aside for the considerable support for The Revenant, which, alongside its healthy box office take this weekend, ought to mark that film out as the Oscar contender we all refused to see coming by now! Wins for Picture, Director and Actor certainly shocked Oscar watchers, though to what extent this success will be contained within just the Globes' awards is yet to be seen.
