TORONTO REPORT: THE COBBLER

Well, that's that. After The Station Agent, The Visitor and Win Win, it didn't look like Thomas McCarthy was going to hit a snag, as one of America's most consistent indie writer-directors. But now there's The Cobbler, starring Adam Sandler. Now, not all of the reviews for this film are terrible, but so many of them thoroughly are that it's difficult to regard this as anything but a major misfire. Here are reviews from Scott Tobias at The Dissolve, Andrew Barker at Variety and John DeFore at The Hollywood Reporter.
