Aside its French release next month, Tommy Lee Jones' second film as director will screen at Cannes, before taking on Telluride and Toronto, and then opening in the US on the 3rd of October. Strong reviews couldn't drive his first film (which also showed at Cannes and won Jones an award there) The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada to major American awards attention. A bitchin cast and Rodrigo Prieto's lovely cinematography ought to help The Homesman fare better.
