BLACK COAL, THIN ICE TAKES BERLIN GOLDEN BEAR


Quite the breakthrough for Diao Yi Nan, as his crime drama Black Coal, Thin Ice takes home the Berlin International Film Festival's top honour. Recently-ousted Focus Features CEO James Schamus headed the jury, which also gave Black Coal, Thin Ice's lead actor Liao Fan its Best Actor trophy, while Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel won the Grand Jury Prize, the runner-up award.
