A FOUR-BY-FOUR FROM CHLOTRUDIS

The Chlotrudis Society's choices are always eclectic, and their vast collective knowledge and appreciation of cinema yields noteworthy results each year, even if they may be sometimes contentious, as no-one likes to see such a prestigious organisation with such discerning tastes opt to honour films you weren't personally keen on yourself. Four films lead this year's nominations with four apiece: Frances Ha, The Hunt, The Past and Short Term 12. And for those of you nervous that we could see another dispiriting match with the Academy (not likely, given that AMPAS is probably gonna make a brilliant choice this year), calm thyself - none of Chlotrudis' six Best Movie nominees are among the nine Best Picture Oscar nominees. Winners will be announced during the 16th of March ceremony.
