AMERICAN CINEMA EDITORS - AUGUST, MR. BANKS JOIN FAVOURITES

Nothing much of note in the ACE Eddie nominations today, as all the usual suspects show up to duke it out for one of the industry's most prestigious guild awards. Recognising that Her is, indeed, a drama and not a comedy (hear that, HFPA?), the guild has added Saving Mr. Banks to their drama lineup, thus ousting Ron Howard's Rush from the lineup. And August: Osage County makes its way in to an otherwise predictable comedy or musical slate, while animated and documentary slates are well-considered, if also conventional. Awards will be presented on the 7th of February.
