AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY REVIEWED AT TORONTO

Tracy Letts' acclaimed play August: Osage County has been adapted for the screen by John Wells, but reviews haven't been as complimentary to this starry staging. Kevin Jagernauth has good things to say about the cast in The Playlist, but little else. And there's a middling B- review from Drew McWeeny in HitFix. But there's a positive response from The Telegraph's Tim Robey in which lead Julia Roberts receives particular notice. It's out in the UK on the 13th of December, and on Christmas Day in the US.

Also reviewed at TIFF lately have been Third Person from Paul Haggis, tepidly received by Tim Grierson in ScreenDaily, and Nimrod Antal's Metallica: Through the Never in HitFix, from Drew McWeeny.
