Having acknowledged these shortly after they were announced, I forgot entirely about posting them! All the big hitters are present and correct; unfortunately, films like Rust and Bone and The Impossible miss out - the nominating procedure for the Visual Effects category often allows surprise contenders to make the cut, so I'm a little disappointed, particularly concerning The Impossible, when Hereafter's dodgy tidal wave effects earned it a nomination, bumping TRON: Legacy, of all things!
My current predictions: The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Life of Pi, Snow White and the Huntsman
